What is a ceramic coating?
A ceramic coating is a professional grade liquid polymer that chemically bonds to your vehicle's paintwork. Once cured, it sits as a transparent protective layer over the paint and does several things at once. Water beads and sheets off the surface. Bird droppings, tree sap and road salt have less time to do damage. The paintwork stays in better condition for longer, washes are quicker, and the finish holds up in a way that a wax or sealant simply cannot match over time.
Why preparation matters
This is where most coating jobs go wrong. A coating applied to paint that has been washed but not properly decontaminated and polished will look fine for a few months and then disappoint. Every coating we apply follows a full preparation process: multi stage wash, full liquid decontamination, machine polishing, IPA panel wipe, and only then does the coating come out of the bottle. Cars sit outside every day facing UV, rain, tree sap and road contamination. The coating needs to perform in those real conditions, and proper preparation is what determines whether it does.
Outdoor application
Ceramic coatings can absolutely be applied outdoors. The most important factor is the weather on the day. As long as conditions are dry and the temperature is reasonable, the coating will cure correctly and perform exactly as it should. We always check the forecast carefully before confirming coating jobs and will move a date if the weather is not going to cooperate. Getting the conditions right costs nothing, and the result is worth waiting for.
Durability options
We offer two levels of coating durability across every package. The 3 year coating is included as standard. A professional grade ceramic that bonds chemically to the paintwork and provides strong, reliable protection on a daily driven vehicle for 3 years.
The up to 5 year coating is available as an upgrade. The standard 3 year ceramic, with a professional hydrophobic top coat layer applied over it in the same session. The top coat sits over the base ceramic and acts as a sacrificial layer, taking environmental wear first and protecting the coating underneath. Water behaviour is noticeably more aggressive from day one, and the effective protection extends to around five years.
For most customers the 3 year is more than enough. If you are keeping the car for several years or simply want the best possible result from the start, the up to 5 year is worth the upgrade. We will always give you an honest recommendation based on your car and how you use it.
Which coating package suits your car?

Protection Detail -
A full day of careful preparation and professional ceramic coating. The exterior is washed, fully decontaminated, machine polished and prepared before the coating goes on. This is the right package for a car that is already in good condition and you want to protect it properly going forward.
New Car Detail -
Designed specifically for new and nearly new vehicles. A car may look perfect when it arrives from a dealership, but delivery marks, adhesive residue and light imperfections from the preparation process are more common than most people realise. This package addresses all of that before a professional grade ceramic coating is applied, so your new car starts its life in the best possible condition from day one. Enhancement Detail -
Our most thorough exterior package, carried out over two days. Where the Protection Detail includes a single stage machine polish to prepare the surface, the Enhancement is built around extended machine polishing to remove swirl marks, light scratches, holograms and paint haze, aiming for around 60 to 70% defect removal.
